Since the start of the pandemic the health board have been funding Econsult and we have been funding AccuRx texting system. The Econsult funding is coming to an end and we have been looking at our options.
Our patient satisfaction questionnaire has shown many patients like econsult, but we struggle with the demand it creates which results in us having to switch it off, we know this is frustrating for patients.
After looking at all our options we will be trialling an extension to the AccuRx platform that we use when we text you for information, appointments or photos.
This new system will allow us to keep digital access available during working hours for administrative queries and to have fixed times for medical queries.
From Wednesday 29th March we will start using AccuRx for administrative queries, this will be available Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.
From Tuesday 18th April 2023 we will start using AccuRx for medical queries, this will be available Tuesday to Thursday 8am to 10am.
Further details on how to use this new service will follow over the coming days and weeks.
